65% of your child’s brain development happens during their first year of life. The nervous system controls your child’s development and controls the person they grow up to be.
Regular chiropractic adjustments for children ensure optimal communication between the brain and the body – and that means your child can better adapt, heal, and re-establish balance in response to stress.
Most of all, good brain-body connection assists with development, and we know that’s important to you. Did you know:
About 17% of children have developmental delay – Yeargin- Allsopp, Murphy, Oakley & Sikes 1992
Many are not detected before school entrance – Drillien, Pickering & Drummond 1988
Early brain development is one of the most important pathways to lifelong learning, behavioural competence, positive social relationships and health – Inspiral Seminars
how young can children start getting chiropractic care?
All babies benefit by having their first chiropractic check and adjustment soon after birth. Think about how traumatic birth can be on a baby, especially if there are difficulties or a long (or especially fast) labour.
If your baby shows any of these, give us a call:
a weak suck reflex
difficulty attaching to breast
unsettled or colicky
what can chiropractic help with in childhood?
These things are signs your child’s body isn’t functioning at 100%, and you could consider chiropractic care:
low immunity (often sick or slow to bounce back)
problems with balance or coordination (falls, accidents)
slow development (crawling, walking, easily startled)
anxious, agitated, hyperactive, or overly sensitive to noise
digestion and feeding problems
trouble concentrating
sleeping problems
low energy
